New Class Starting in April
England Genealogy for Beginners
Presented by David Flint

This class series will introduce the beginner to the genealogy records and resources you would use for
researching your ancestors in England. It will cover introductory information such as basic geography;
England’s historic counties and parishes; Church of England and parish registers; using maps and
gazetteers; using FamilySearch and other websites to support your research; overview of specific record
groups such as church parish records, civil registration and census records, and other types of genealogy
records. This class will be presented in several sessions. Although primarily for beginners, the class will
include topics of interest to those who have already started your research in England. Printed handouts
will be provided, including selected bibliographies for additional reading and reference. The class will be
presented live at the Orange County FamilySearch Center and via Zoom. Advance registration is
required.
